Receive Jesus Christ into your Heart

Receiving Jesus Christ into your heart is a personal and transformative step in your relationship with God. It signifies opening your life to His love, salvation & forgiveness. This act of faith is often described as inviting Jesus Christ to come into your heart & life and receiving Him as your Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9-10)

The process begins with acknowledging that we need God and that our sin has separated us from Him. This is followed by us opening our heart and receiving Jesus Christ into our hearts, asking Him to forgive us of our sins and to be our Lord & savior.

Receiving Christ is not about performing rituals or earning favor but about accepting His gift of grace through a heartfelt prayer or confession of faith. When you invite Him into your heart, He begins to transform your life from within, offering peace, hope, and a deeper relationship with God. (Ephesians 2:8)

Through repentance, we turn away from wrongdoing and seek forgiveness, recognizing Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross as the ultimate act of love and redemption. (John 3:16)

This decision marks the start of a lifelong journey of growing in faith, learning from Scripture, and seeking to live a life pleasing to God according to His word. It’s a step that marks the beginning of our new life in Christ. We experience the miracle of the new birth,  the joy & peace that comes from knowing that our sins are forgiven and the assurance of having eternal life. Here is where many experience the entrance into a life of new meaning and purpose, that is rewarding and fulfilling, and truly a gift from God. (John 3:3)

ABC's of SALVATION

A

Admit that you are a sinner.

Admit that you have not always lived a life pleasing to God.

Acknowledge that sin separates you from God.

Ask God to forgive you of your sins.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

B

Believe that God loves you.

Believe that Jesus Christ died for you.

Believe that He paid the price for all your sins to be forgiven.

Believe that your life will not be complete without Jesus Christ being your savior & Lord.

Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

C

Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.

Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the only one who paid the price for your salvation.

Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.

Confess with your mouth your need for God’s help to live for Him all the days of your life.

“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Romans 10:9-10).

PRAYER of SALVATION

“Heavenly Father,

I ADMIT that I am a sinner and that my sins have separated me from you.

I am sorry for my sins & all of the wrong that I have done. Please forgive me.

I BELIEVE that Jesus Christ went to the cross of calvary,

died for my sins, was raised from the dead, and is alive forever more.

Lord Jesus I CONFESS that you are my savior,

and I invite you to come into my heart and live inside of me,

I invite you to be the Lord of my life,

from this day forward.

Help me to live for you, to live a life pleasing to you,

all the days of my life.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

“For God so loved the word, that he gave his one and only son,

that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16)
